Speedcom Wireless Corp set to unveil its fixed wireless non-line-of-sight offering

Sarasota, Fla.-based Speedcom Wireless Corp. today announced its Wave Wireless division plans to introduce its new Speedlan PH9000 point-to-multipoint last-mile wireless product line, which is based on Speedcom's PacketHop non-line-of-sight technology. The technology will be unveiled during the Networld+Interop trade show, which begins May 8, in Las Vegas. The new Speedlan PH9000 series products are designed to reach more than 90% of a sector's population by overcoming the need for clear line-of-sight between the base or repeating station, and a subscriber's premise transceiver. The first products in the line to be released are designed as either a seamless pico-cell non-LOS extension or overlay to a current Speedlan 8000 Series deployment, or as the heart of brand new multi-sector pico-cell deployment.

The PH9000 products, available in either indoor shelf-mount' or outdoor wall/pole mount, provide the ability to self-heal the network as a sector's topography or geography changes over time.
